- Tomorrow, at 1:00 pm, there will be an in-camera meeting of City Council. The agenda includes items that are private for reasons related to Confidential Evaluations, Intergovernmental Relations, Advice from Officials, and Economic Interests of a Third Party.
- Later in the day, at 3:00 pm, there will be a public meeting of City Council. Council will address a request from Maskwa Medical for an interest-free loan of $3.5 million that would be repaid by the end of a three-year term. There will also be a public hearing to address proposed amendments to the land use bylaw. One amendment would incorporate increased public notification for input on cell tower placement and also emphasize Council's preference for towers with less visual impact in sensitive areas, while another would revise driveway and vehicular access requirements to enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety along arterial roads.

The City and County of Grande Prairie announced they will be seeking public feedback for their Intermunicipal Development Plan. The plan governs development and infrastructure near the municipal boundaries and is required under the Municipal Government Act. Residents can participate in open house events scheduled for July 18th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the TARA Centre and July 19th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Montrose Cultural Centre to review proposed changes and offer feedback on the plan. Northwestern Polytechnic and Prairies Economic Development Canada have partnered to support the Side Family Centre for Entrepreneurial Excellence, a multi-million-dollar initiative aimed at boosting local entrepreneurial skills and regional competitiveness in the Peace Region. The Polytechnic developed and presented the project proposal to PrairiesCan, securing $3.2 million in funding through its Regional Innovation Ecosystems program. Located at NWP's Grande Prairie Campus, the project will attempt to bridge academia and business.
- The Grande Prairie Curling Centre presented a report at City Hall detailing its use of City funding and plans for the upcoming season. The Centre highlighted the $150,000 annual funding for facility utilities such as ice maintenance and installation. They discussed upcoming events like the Provincial and Canadian Stick Curling Championships, anticipating growth in stick curling popularity, particularly among seniors in Grande Prairie. The Centre’s goal is to expand its role as a host for regional and national curling competitions.
