Grande Prairie voters have spoken - and not much has changed!
In the Mayoral race, Jackie Clayton was re-elected with 3,491 votes, capturing the majority of support. Kristopher James Arcand finished second with 1,220 votes.
For City Council, voters chose eight representatives. Grant Berg led the pack with 4,671 votes, followed by Dylan Bressey with 4,196, Leonard Auger with 3,266, Jena Flach with 3,253, Wade Pilat with 3,014, Kevin O’Toole with 2,803, Mike O’Connor with 2,740, and Chris Thiessen with 2,727.
Overall, six incumbents will return, joined by two fresh faces.
Auger and Flach are the two newcomers, while Gladys Blackmore was the only incumbent to lose her seat - she garnered 2,309 votes.
Grande Prairie’s new Council will be tasked with addressing critical local priorities, including responsible budgeting, maintaining local services, and guiding community development.
As the Mayor and Council members take office, the coming months will reveal how this team works together to meet the City’s challenges.
One thing is certain - Grande Prairie residents are expecting leadership that listens, acts, and prioritizes practical solutions for the city.
